Franchise academy to open in West Palm Beach in fall

A program teaching the business of franchising will be established at Palm Beach Atlantic University in downtown West Palm Beach, as result of a $1.5 million commitment from Ray Titus, CEO of United Franchise Corp.

The Titus Franchising Center is the first of its kind in Florida, according to Palm Beach Atlantic University, a private university with classes in West Palm Beach, Orlando,Wellington and online.

The Center will offer academic coursework in the Rinker School of Business to cover all aspects of franchising, an internship program and opportunities for job shadowing and training at United Franchise Group’s global headquarters on Vista Parkway in West Palm Beach.

“Franchising captures the entrepreneurial spirit of Marshall E. ‘Doc’ Rinker, the business pioneer who founded Rinker Materials and the namesake of our business school,” said Will Fleming Jr., president of Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Titus said United Franchise Group and its key employees will be involved in every aspect of the center’s operations.

The CEO said he made the decision to invest in Palm Beach Atlantic University after his son’s graduation from the school with an international business degree, the company’s involvement in the school’s business plan contest, hiring some of the school’s graduates and the university’s Christian values.

United Franchise Group has more than 1,400 franchise locations in over 80 countries, including Signarama, EmbroidMe, Transworld Business Advisors, SuperGreen Solutions, Experimac, Straetus, Jon Smith Subs and VentureX.
